NAML Standing Committees

NAML is developing Standing Committees comprised of NAML members who exhibit an interest in particular topic areas. These Standing Committees include committees relating to our Annual Conference, Mentorship, Legal Defense, Membership Recruitment, as well as committees pertaining to specific legal topics like Immigration, Corporate and NonProfit Law, Islamic Finance, Litigation, Civil Rights and others.

Standing Committee members aid and advise our Board and officers in strategic planning for the future in these topic areas. The also assist in developing much needed information for the general public in the topic area addressed by the Standing Committee.  Over time, our Board and officers have found that advice from our members plays a crucial role in our decision-making, and that our organization may only grow and prosper with the active involvement of our membership. We also wish to encourage our members to network with one another, form related legal organizations and corporate entities, and share in the camaraderie possible among those with similar professional interests and religious background. We believe that such committees are the both the foundation and future for our organization, and we strongly encourage you to be a part of them.

Each Standing Committee will have at least one Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, who will direct the Committees’ activities. Each Committee Chairperson will also serve as a nonvoting member of our Board of Director Committees most relevant to the topic area. Over time, it is our hope that the Standing Committees will develop formalized programs for NAML to pursue, and that members of these Committees will consider occupying Board or officer positions.  If you are interested in participating in any of these committees, please email the relevant email address below.
